Sunshine in the open bush

is not a pleasant, warming friend;

it’s a strenght-sapping monster,

a brutal, powerful, killing fiend.

It pierces eyes with steely daggers,

reduces unsuspecting travelers

to melting pools of sweaty flesh,

and fries their brains to jelly.

The fools who venture to this land

with insufficent water planned,

will only last a day or two,

in this vast expanse of oven.

For even in the shade of trees,

the heat will reach the high degrees,

the sun will conquer all it finds,

and dance in cruel victory.
